Do I need a barcode scanner to use Rack Scanner?
No. Any modern iPhone or Android camera works as the scanner, with flashlight support for dark shelves.
What happens when I submit a count?
Rack Scanner sets the available quantity at that location to your counted number and records it as a cycle count in Shopify’s inventory history.
What if stock changes while we’re counting?
Rack Scanner flags the product as a conflict instead of overwriting it. You can accept the new baseline or overwrite deliberately.
How does pick & pack work?
Staff see paid orders waiting to ship, pack one at a time or batch-pick from a combined list sorted by SKU, scan each item into the box and print the packing slip from the phone.
Does Rack Scanner fulfill orders in Shopify?
No. Rack Scanner marks orders as packed and keeps a record of who packed what. You keep fulfilling and buying labels in Shopify or your shipping app.
What if my products don’t have barcodes?
Rack Scanner can match SKUs, and staff can search by product name. Adding barcodes in Shopify makes scanning faster.
What happens if the Wi-Fi drops?
